Leaders United By Purpose

Building a Network of Christian Leaders

LUBP is an efficient way to share knowledge, promote, and support one another in uplifting and building the Kingdom of God.

Characteristics of an effective Christian leader

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7

3 Characteristics of an effective Christian leader:
1. Power
2. Love
3. Self-discipline

These are available to us because the Holy Spirit lives in us. As we follow His leading each day, our lives will more fully exhibit these characteristics.

Definition of greatness:
"Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can." -John Wesley

Peace and Life

"Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that [a]comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].

[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot.

So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites an… Continue

Today we are celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. He not only provided leadership and direction to the cause of Civil Rights but literally gave his life for the cause of freedom. As his Lord did two thousand years prior, he laid down his life for others. Dr. King's love for his… Continue

You'll Always Smell Smoke Before You See Fire

By Joel Osteen

We don't have to go through life wondering what we should do next. We have a Helper.

Just like you smell smoke before you see a fire, God's Spirit speaks to us, keeping us on the best path in life.

You see as God's children, we have the upper hand; we have divine insight from God. His Spirit lives on the inside of every believer. He is there to lead us, guide us and help us make great decisions.

He wants to give us insight about our family, our career and future. He wants to w… Continue

Welcome!!

Welcome to Leaders United By Purpose (LUBP)!! LUBP is a network of Christian Leaders in ministry, in business, and of organizations. Networking is a good way to enrich your ministry and leadership. Through LUBP, you can build relationships with other leaders that will be a good resource for finding speakers, becoming conference buddies, creating personal accountability, and for discussion and evaluation of things that have worked and not worked in our ministries, etc. This is a network where you can also find resources and help for those in need who do not live in your specific geographic location. It is an efficient way for us to share and spread knowledge, promote, advertise, and support one another in our endeavors to continue uplifting and building the Kingdom of God.

It is our prayer that you will have an enlightening and enjoyable experience in this network, and that God will abundantly bless and reward all that you do for Him. Stay connected, informed, and committed to helping each other take our ministries, churches, organizations, and businesses to the next level!

Be sure to invite all of your friends and associates to join! Check out the new forum topics below!

Daily Bread

God’s word will: Help you grow, read it daily; Keep you from sinning, memorize it; Teach you how to live, study it; Guide you, meditate on it; Inspire you, hear it taught. Then, if you are still not convinced that God’s word is true – Practice obeying it!

AS MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD, WE MUST BE: BIG ENOUGH TO ADMIT WHEN WE MAKE MISTAKES SMART ENOUGH TO PROFIT FROM OUR MISTAKES AND STRONG ENOUGH TO CORRECT OUR MISTAKES. As children of God in Leadership we must take hold of these qualities if we are to be successful in leading others. A good leader will admit when they are wrong, learn from it and then correct it.
~Lady Sutton

Speak Lord; Your servant is listening. 1 Samuel 3-9

As we plan our day, we need to realize that our plans can be subject to change by God. Listening for His instructions is vital, in our service to Him. There’s no special place we need to be to hear Him speak, but we do need to be listening with our hearts. It may be a gentle nudge or even a rebuke. He will whisper, “Go this way”. What great comfort, to know that the God of the universe is with us and leading us, as we go through our day. God can change our every day routines into something dynamic, if we will listen, receive His instructions and act on them.

Prayer:
We desire to serve you with every moment of our lives. We are listening today for the sound of Your voice. Lead us and guide us through even the smallest details of our lives. Speak to our hearts today we are listening.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Jesus and the Ten Commandments: The nature of God and His plan for How you should live

1. “You shall have no other gods before me” Exodus 20:3

Jesus said “Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only” Matthew 4:10

2. “You shall not make for yourself an idol” Exodus 20:4

Jesus said “No servant can serve two masters” Luke 16:13

3. “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God” Exodus 20:7

Jesus said “Do not swear at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne. . .” Matthew 5:34

4. “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy” Exodus 20:8

Jesus said “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath” Mark 2:27, 28

5. “Honor your father and your mother” Exodus 20:12

Jesus said “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me” Matthew 10:37

6. “You shall not murder” Exodus 20:13

Jesus said “Anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment” Matthew 5:22

7. “You shall not commit adultery” Exodus 20:14

Jesus said “Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart” Matthew 5:28

8. “You shall not steal” Exodus 20:15

9. “You shall not give false testimony” Exodus 20:16

10. “You shall not covet” Exodus 20:17

Jesus said “Be on your guard against all kinds of greed” Luke 12:15

The commandments were designed to lead God’s people to a life of practical holiness. God’s Word is a training manual to prepare His people to serve Him and follow His ways. In them you can see the nature of God and His plan for how you should live. Obeying the laws He has given to us is a way to fulfill God’s ultimate law of love. Ask God to show you His will and His ways through them.
